Our Story...
Homes for Gnomes, the story of a millwright and a pre-school teacher. He brought his knowledge of tools and his woodworking skills; she brought her imagination, attention to detail, and creativity. Together, they spend many hours in the garage designing and building the cottages. Each one unique and individual.
It really all began with a bridge over a small pond and a simple "fairy house ". Then came the "stump covers". The barn, the outhouse, the log cabin... all used to hide the unsightly tree stumps leftover from a millwright anxious to prune some overgrown trees with a chainsaw!
Family, friends, and neighbours loved the miniature houses. Encouraging us to build more. Many more. And so, here we are. A backyard too full of fairy houses and a garage that can no longer store our many creations.
The millwright, who could not truly get in touch with his "inner fairy " and be
"at one " with the fairy houses, thought selling the creations was a great idea.
"Let's do it!", he said. However, the millwright could not bring himself to sell "fairy houses". So, the pre-school teacher compromised and they sell "homes for gnomes" instead.
